Governance plays an important role in shaping a country's economic outlook, especially exports. So that by creating correct policies, transparent institutions and regulatory frameworks, it facilitates trade and expands exports. In this research, the role of governance quality on the export of agricultural products in BRICS countries during the period from 2002 to 2021 has been discussed. Examining the governance situation in Iran shows that since the announcement of the general policies of the resistance economy (2013) until 2020, the governance indicators have decreased and then improved in some cases. Therefore, it is necessary to increase exports by easing cumbersome laws and transparency in laws and governance, while curbing corruption, so that ethics and justice are respected and the society benefits from the benefits of trade. Also, the results of the Feasible Generalized Least Square (FGLS) model showed that all variables except the variable of irrigated land share have a significant effect. Also, the examination of the coefficients of the set of governance indicators shows that the effect of this variable on the export of agricultural products is negative and will cause a drop in exports. Among the components of the cooperation index, the variables of government efficiency, corruption control and the quality of laws have a negative effect on the export of agricultural products. The negative effect of the corruption control variable indicates the confirmation of the theory of the lubrication of trade wheels in BRICS countries. So that laws and bureaucracy reduce exports and exporters of agricultural products
