Abstract

Housing General Policies (2009) emphasizes providing affordable housing for low-income groups, supporting professional, mass, and industrial housing, and respecting the cultural values of families. In this regard, Mehr Housing Project (MHP) was implemented by the 9th government to provide affordable housing. MHP is one of the large-scale urban housing projects that has been implemented in Iran. It has continued in the form of “Housing National Action” and “Housing National Movement” by the next governments. The evaluation of these plans and assessment of residents’ satisfaction is extremely critical for planners and politicians. Therefore, the goal of this research is to meta analysis of studies in the field of residents’ satisfaction with MHP. For this purpose, the research published in scientific journals during 2012-2021 was collected and 22 articles using a 5-point Likert scale were chosen to analyze. After reviewing the content of articles, Housing satisfaction is divided into 4 dimensions including housing quality and socio-economic, physical, and environmental characteristics of the neighborhood. Then, the overall satisfaction average was estimated in CMA software. The results show that the level of housing satisfaction in the 95% confidence interval was equal to 2.87, which is lower than the theoretical average (3). The level of satisfaction with housing quality, physicalو socio-economic, and environmental characteristics is 2.87, 2.88, 2.93, and 3.22. Thus, housing satisfaction in MHP is far from the optimal level in all aspects. Providing houses is not defined only through building construction; the citizens' satisfaction components should be included in housing programs .
