Analyzing the components of industrial policy based on a methodical study of the general policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran (with an emphasis on the petrochemical industry)

Abstract

Petrochemical industry is one of Iran's strategic industries. This industry is facing two serious challenges, both internal (instability of policies, instability of macroeconomic variables, etc.) and external (economic sanctions, intense international competition, etc.). Therefore, the petrochemical industry, looking after economic resilience, needs governance redesign. Therefore, the upcoming research has sought to answer this question: "The most important policy components in the petrochemical industry from the perspective of the upstream documents of J.A. What are they?" For this purpose, all general policies of J.A. (Aflaghi until 1401) were studied and analyzed based on analytical-developmental approach and thematic analysis method. No software was used in this research. Finally, by examining 151 codes, 111 basic themes, 23 organizing themes and 5 overarching themes were identified. The overarching themes are: (1) effective, purposeful and resilient commercial diplomacy, (2) effective communication with the knowledge-based sector, (3) strengthening of the managerial, administrative and human system, (4) government regulatory governance and (5) popularization. Ownership and investment. At the end, 4 important axes for diagnosis and promotion of general policies regarding the petrochemical industry have been presented.
