Abstract
Areas of competition were created in the regional politics of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia. After the Arab events of 2011, the tensions and rivalries in the relations between the two countries reached their peak, which continues until now. The present research aims to take a realistic approach to the general policies of the system, the causes and areas of competition in the regional politics of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia after the Islamic Revolution. In this regard, the question arises: What are the areas of competition in the regional politics of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia after the Islamic Revolution? In response to this question, this hypothesis is also proposed that: the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia includes political, religious and ideological fields, each of which is divided into smaller parts. The findings of the research indicate that the developments in the region have caused a crisis in the relations between the two countries, and considering the regional competition between Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the aforementioned developments have caused tension and divergence in the relations between the two countries. Paying attention to the fact that the situation in the region is apparently not in line with the positions and interests of Saudi Arabia, so the Islamic Republic of Iran should avoid any action that will lead to the escalation of tension in relations and presenting an unfavorable image of Iran to Saudi Arabia.
