The water crisis in our country for nearly two decades has become an important issue for the people and politicians and is one of the issues that always been raised in the media. Due to the presence of dry and semi-arid belt in Iran, there are few water resources and low rainfall. The issue of water scarcity, due to population growth and the development of agriculture, drinking and industry, should be offset by water resource management through a variety of methods. The government has the most important role in this regard due to its large size in Iran, which needs to have a good policy for water management. But at the moment we see that the water crisis is not one of the main priorities of the politicians and the lack of a programmed and parallel work of various organizations in this field has worsened the state of the country's water resources.
The main question of the article is that what has been the policy of water in Iran since 2001? Based on this question, our hypothesis is that the water crisis in the country's macro policy has not been prioritized, which has led to a lack of specific planning to deal with the crisis, and existing programs are also due to parallel work and the lack of cooperation between responsible institutions and organizations for water has not come to a definite end.
